SG Farmers’ Market went virtual for the first time on 30 January & 6 February 2021 via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/SAFEF2017. Organised by SAFEF and supported by Singapore Food Agency, the event offered consumers a brand-new farmers’ market experience. Featuring livestreams from 7 farms on 30 January and 6 farms on 6 February, consumers had the unique opportunity to visit the farms and meet the farmers virtually from the comfort of their homes, shop online for the freshest local produce, and have the produce delivered from the farms to their doorsteps! Held just before Chinese New Year, consumers learnt new CNY recipes from the cooking demonstrations, and took advantage of the attractive deals and bundle promotions to stock up for CNY. Some were even rewarded for their purchases with branded kitchen appliances from the lucky draws!

SG Farmers’ Market went to Tampines for the first time on 11 & 12 January 2020! Organised by SAFEF and supported by Singapore Food Agency, North East Community Development Council and Our Tampines Hub, the event was graced by Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources. Visitors had a great time buying the freshest local produce directly from close to 30 Singapore farms. They were also treated to food sampling, cooking demonstrations, a talk about eggs, free gifts, and branded kitchen appliances in the lucky draws! With the soft launch of e-SG Farmers’ Market, consumers can now shop online @ bit.ly/e-sgfm on Lazada Redmart for fresh local produce anytime!

SG Farmers’ Market went to Bishan for the first time on 28 & 29 September 2019! Organised by SAFEF in partnership with co-organisers Central Singapore Community Development Council and Bishan East-Thomson Grassroots Organisations, the event was supported by Singapore Food Agency and graced by Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for the Environment and Water Resources. Featuring 20 Singapore farms, visitors had a great time participating in the programmes and learning more about eggs, growing their own wheatgrass, picking up new recipes and shopping for the freshest locally harvested seafood, eggs, vegetables, mushrooms and more. Some even went home with free gifts and very attractive lucky draw prizes!

Back by popular demand, SG Farmers’ Market returned to Hillion Mall for the second year running. Organised by SAFEF and supported by Singapore Food Agency and venue partner Hillion Mall, the event was graced by Dr Teo Ho Pin, Mayor of North West District & MP for Bukit Panjang Constituency. Featuring close to 30 Singapore farms, visitors could choose from a wide selection of fresh farm produce, processed food which incorporated local produce such as Finland Spinach Ice Cream and Aloe Vera Desserts, and even cooked food such as Frog Meat and Shrimps. Visitors were also treated to lots of fun activities including cooking demonstrations, free gifts and lucky draws!

Our first indoor Chinese New Year edition of the SG Farmers’ Market was co-organised with AVA and Cairnhill Community Club. Featuring 18 Singapore farms, the event was graced by Mr Melvin Yong, Grassroots Advisor & MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC, and drew 2,000 visitors who came to buy fresh farm produce, find out the fun facts about eggs at N&N-Egg Story’s “Let’s Talk About EGGS!”, learn how to grow vegetables at Kok Fah’s “My Mini Farm Workshop!”, and pick up special CNY recipes at the cooking demonstrations.

Farmers’ Market @ Car-Free Weekend

Description:

For the launch of Car-Free Weekend, SAFEF co-organised a Farmers’ Market with AVA at the Esplanade Park to promote the concept of ‘clean and fresh’ via our local produce.

Visitors had their pick of crisp, leafy greens and deliciously buttery mushrooms, while our local farm-fresh eggs and seafood were also popular.

With a great line-up of fun activities for the family to enjoy, the event was a treat for those who turned up to support us.
