More than 100 participants turned up for SAFEF’s 1st Anniversary Dinner in October to celebrate the organisation’s maiden year of achievements. Special guests included MTI’s Senior Minister of State, Dr Koh Poh Koon (also the Patron of SAFEF), our Governing Council, as well as friends from MND and AVA. The scrumptious dinner was specially prepared using ingredients generously sponsored by our very own farmers.

Description:

SAFEF and AVA invited 100 farmers and industry associates to a dialogue session with SMS Dr Koh Poh Koon and SPS Ms Sun Xueling. Aimed at creating an opportunity to hear out and tackle various issues concerning the agro-food industry, the lively session was expertly facilitated by Mr George Huang (Chairman, SAFEF), and saw many like-minds committed to push the industry forward.

Livestock Farmers’ Gathering

Description:

A gathering of 10 livestock farmers, this tour of one of Singapore’s fish farms was a perfect event for participants to get acquainted, and exchange valuable information with one another. Representatives from some of Singapore’s Institutes of Higher Learning and Enterprise Singapore were also present. New subscribership applications were received by the end of the gathering, making this a fruitful initiative.

On 23 May 2018, SAFEF hosted 15 of our 20 Pledged Subscribers to a simple buffet lunch at our office, and SAFEF’s first Subscribership applications were received.

The gathering was joined by Mr Woo Wee Meng (Senior Assistant Director/Infrastructure, MND); Ms Cheong Lai Peng (Director, Industry Development, Technology & Industry Group, AVA); and Mr Eng Chi Huei (Deputy Director, Planning & Management Department, Technology & Industry Development Group, AVA).
